Pepper The Dog
The true commander of the crew, Pepper is the best Customer Greeter around! Pepper says Hello to every customer and will happily wag her tail for biscuits. Rain or shine, you’ll find Pepper roaming the shop or welcoming our customers.
Brian Huebner has grown up around cars his whole life, going to car shows, and car tours with his family. Helping his dad restore and repair antique cars. In fact his first car was a muscle car that he rebuilt himself.
Brian is the Shop Foreman at Mick’s Auto and an ASE certified Master Technician with 25 years’ experience. What he enjoys most about his job is helping people out and solving difficult diagnostics. Over the years he has worked on a wide variety of makes and models of cars including Japanese, American and European sports cars. His area of expertise is Japanese and hybrid vehicles.
Brian was awarded a scholarship for being at the top of his class in the Pasadena Community College Automotive Technology Program. He has continued his education taking many seminars and workshops to stay updated with new automotive technology. A particular interest of Brian is learning and understanding hybrid technology.
As a hobby he has built and raced cars. He enjoys most anything on wheels and is quite the mountain biking enthusiast. He enjoys taking his family mountain biking on the weekends all over Santa Cruz.
Tracy Cotten is the owner of Mick’s Auto and has over 23 years of automotive repair experience, 20 of those years right here at Mick’s. He has an extensive background in Japanese automotive repair and is an expert in researching and finding the best quality parts for your car. Tracy is known for his straightforward no-nonsense advice and guidance, particularly when counseling Mick’s customers as to whether to go forward with a repair or if they would be better off purchasing a new vehicle.
Tracy truly cares about his customers and will bend over backward to help.
Cal Fournier is an ASE Certified Master Technician with over 11 years of experience in the automotive industry. He continues to update and expand his knowledge and skills with seminars and workshops in order to stay current with the ever-changing automotive technology. He grew up on the East Coast where he took every automotive trade-school class he could sign up for. He moved to California with his family in 2000. Cal worked at several auto repair shops in the area prior to joining the team at Mick’s Automotive in 2009. He enjoys backpacking, camping and fishing in his spare time.
Jonathan Tempero is the Shop Porter at Mick’s Automotive. He has been in the industry for 4 years as a Porter and shuttle driver. He takes great pride in keeping the shop areas clean, washing client vehicles as well as supporting the shop in many other important areas. Off the clock, Jon enjoys playing his electric guitar, hiking, reading and computers.
Bloo Darson is the General Manager at Mick’s Automotive and has been here for 7 years. Bloo has been in the industry for 28 years and has degrees in chemistry and CDMB. For Bloo, working with people and cars is the most rewarding part of his role. Outside of the office, he enjoys mountain biking and playing guitar.
Manuel Ruelas is a Line Mechanic who has been in the auto industry for 11 years and at Mick’s for 2 years. He has taken the T-Ten Toyota 2 year Program at De Anza College and continues to attend seminars and workshops to stay up to date and continue his education. For Manny, suspension work and diagnosing body noises is the most rewarding part of his job. Outside of Mick’s Auto, Manny enjoys movies, video games and the latest and greatest technology. He also likes watching documentaries of animals/space/humans, etc. In the future he is interested in becoming a Master Tech with a smog license.
